June to September 2006. Kloosh is in dry storage at South Port Marine in Portland, ME. Our trip from Gloucester, MA started with a bang. The first day out the winds and rain continued to increase to the point of a near gale just before we reached Portsmouth, NH. Both of us thank our lucky stars Cheryl's brother Charlie was on board. The waves and low visibility along with unfamiliar systems on the boat added up to a few anxious moments. Once through that day the rest of the trip was sheer bliss. Empty anchorages, good food, and our first views of Maine - it don't get much better but it sure can get worse in a hurry.
May 2006 Counting the days until we fly to Gloucester. We will only have two weeks this time but we are really excited.
The first week will be spring commissioning and learning the systems. Andrew, the previous owner, has offered three days of his time to familiarize us with our new yacht. The final day is slated for a circumnavigation of Cape Ann.
A circumnavigation and shakedown cruise in our first two weeks aboard, no wasted time here!
The second week plan is to slowly move Kloosh to Portland, Maine. The first day Charlie, Cheryl's brother, is joining us, very nice to have an experienced extra hand on board!
Our itinerary includes overnight in Portsmouth, VT & Biddeford, Me and probably one more night on the hook near Portland.
Then the sad part starts as we will have Kloosh hauled at South Port Marine in Portland for summer dry storage. We will have any work that needs done during this time performed while stored in preparation for our three week fall cruise.
